The 65th anniversary of Hasanuddin Universty was celebrated merrily, thanks to the awesome organizing committee led by the university’s Medical School and supported by Agriculture Faculty. Both faculties were successfuly collaborated each other during the preparation until the anniversary day September 10th 2021. The great Baruga Andi Pangerang Pettarani was the venue for the event and strict Covid-19 protocol was applied. To accomodate UNHAS student, the committee provided online platform for them and also broadcaste to the university’s Youtube channel.
The theme of the anniversary was “Memperkokoh Humanisme dan Championship di Era Normal Baru”. To support the event Housing and Public Works Minister Dr. Ir. Basuki Hadimuljo, M.Sc gave his scientific speech in the event. President Joko Widodo also conveyed his congratulation to all lecturers, staff members and students of UNHAS. The president hopes that the university transforms into better institution in term of education system and its management.
The anniversary celebration was attended by all Unhas organs, including the Board of Trustees, the Chancellor and his staff, as well as the Academic Senate. Also present were various invited guests, including: the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (Dr. Ir. M. Basuki Hadimuljono, M.Sc), several regional heads, chancellors of universities in Makassar, the chairman of the South Sulawesi House of Representative, elements of the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) of South Sulawesi, and other partners.
Unhas rector Prof. Dr. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu, MA.,conveyed various international achievements the university got in the previous year. The achievements were delivered during the university’s 65th anniversary. According to Prof. Dwia, Archaeology Department has the most contribution for the success as department’s lectures succesfully published many international publications. One of them is collaborative work with fellow lecturers in Griffith University about the discovery of ancient sceleton in Leang Paningnge.
