Teaching and Learning Activities Continue Online.

The Department of Archaeology Hasnuddin University continues to support the government’s efforts to stop the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak. Including implementing the online learning class and other academic activities. This online learning activity refers to the Hasanuddin University Rector’s Circular Number: 9780/UN.1/KP.10.01/2020 dated May 8th, 2020, regarding the Extension of Working System Adjustment in order to Prevent the Spread of the Covid-19 Virus at Hasanuddin University. This is valid from May 9th to 22nd, 2020, or in accordance with the development and spread of the Covid 19 virus.

The academic community optimizes Unhas’ online learning facilities through the SIKOLA and SIRUNTU applications. Including online meetings and online exams conducted at home by utilizing these online learning facilities. To support this online learning, Hasanuddin University has implemented a data plan subsidy program, especially for students.

One of the obstacles faced especially by students is related to the availability of the internet network which is still not evenly distributed, some students might find it difficult to join online class sessions. This is circumvented by using other applications that are relatively more accessible, such as Google Classroom and WhatsApp, which were later referred to as Kulwap or Kuliah WhatsApp (WhatsApp Class).

The Covid-19 outbreak taught us so many lessons and has changed our cultural pattern, including in the teaching and learning process. A shared commitment is obviously needed so that the learning objectives can still be achieved under current conditions. Hopefully, this Covid-19 pandemic will end soon and things will get better.
