Welcome Freshmen of Archaeology Batch 2020

After going through a long process of State University entrance selection test in 2020, through the University Admission Test Institute (LTMPT) on August 14th 2020, the government announced student candidate who passed the UTBK-SBMPTN Unhas 2020. The test carried through online and implementing health protocols due to the Covid-19 outbreak is certainly a different thing compared to last year’s tests.

UTBK-SBMPTN registrants reached 702,420 people nationally, and 39,415 of them chose Hasanuddin University. This figure places Hasanuddin University as the university in the 11th highest number of applicants for the SBMPTN program nationally. The capacity of Hasanuddin University through the SBMPTN program is 4,451 seats spread over 62 study programs. Meanwhile, there were 4,596 who passed the SBMPTN program. Therefore, the level of competitiveness for the SBMPTN program at Hasanuddin University reaches 11.67%.

In addition to the UTBK SBMPTN program, Hasanuddin University accepts freshmen through the Non-Subsidized Independent Program and the Achievement Independent Program (Sports, Arts, and Sciences). The Independent Enrollment Program was carried out on September 4th, 2020. As many as 1211 freshmen passed through the Non-Subsidized Independent Program and there are 100 freshmen passed through the Achievement Independent Program. The total who registered through the Independent Enrollment Program was 1728 freshmen candidates. Thus, there are 6949 freshmen who qualified for admission at Hasanuddin University in 2020. This means that the level of competitiveness to qualify for admission to Hasanuddin University is getting tougher than last year. Referring to the LTMPT data in 2020, the number of applicants for the SNMPTN program, 17,668 registrants who chose Hasanuddin University, while 1,438 of them were passed the test. Meanwhile, 39,415 applicants registered through the SBMPTN, and only 4,221 passed the admission. Freshmen who are successfully accepted at Hasanuddin University should be grateful and keep being motivated to study harder.

Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Prof. Dr. Akin Duli, M.A who is also an Archaeology Lecturer at FIB Unhas, officially welcomed the 2020 FIB freshmen. It was delivered directly by the Rector of Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu. M.A. in Freshmen Admission and Character Development which was conducted online, on Monday, September 7th, 2020.

Hasanuddin University has officially carried out online the procession of Freshmen Admission and Character Development. In this activity, the Rector of Hasanuddin University delivered her appreciation and invited all new students to make the most of their studies at Hasanuddin University, because Hasanuddin University is supported by resources with the best qualifications. In her speech, the Rector of Hasanuddin University asked all freshmen to optimize their studies at Hasanuddin University, because Unhas has the best-qualified resources.

Among 6,949 students of Hasanuddin University batch 2020. There are 50 of 529 students from the Faculty of Cultural Sciences who are Archaeology Study Program. Therefore, there was an increase in the number of students compared to last year. This is in line with the increasing number of enthusiasts who choose the Archaeological Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Hasanuddin University. Freshmen admissions at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences is held on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, while at the study program level on Wednesday, September 9, 2020. Both activities will be conducted online as well as at the university level.
